Chief Master Rudy W. Timmerman established his school in 1973 and called it Ancient
Fighting Arts.
Master Timmerman took his team across the globe to compete with the best
in the martial art world and many of his students became World Champions. Today, his school
is the oldest established martial art school in the city. We attribute this success to
unequaled quality of instruction, uncommonly good service, and the personal care Master
Timmerman gives his students.
After a severe back injury sidelined Master Timmerman for several years, his focus changed from
competition to providing life-skills for his students through martial art training. Although
we still excel in competition, now our programs are specially designed to enhance self-discipline,
focus, attention span, self-esteem, fitness, as well as release from the stress of today's busy schedules.
Parents of our young students love our STAR character development program, and the scholastic
achievement of our young students is simply astounding. Master Timmerman is now working hard on
a new program he plans to implement in the Fall of '99. This program deals directly with conflict
resolution and anger management.
Master Timmerman and his Senior Instructors have a very unique quality most other martial art
schools lack. A decade ago, as a result of Master Timmerman's long range vision of the direction
martial arts would take, he and his Head Instructor went back to University in order to obtain
Degrees in Recreation and Exercise Science. We don't just ask our students to work hard in school,
we lead by example!
Instructors at Timmerman's KJMS are not only certified in one of the most complete martial
art systems available today, our University Degrees allow us to serve you in complete safety.
No other martial art school in our area can offer you such quality and service. When it comes
to taking care of your health and personal protection needs, there simply is no one better
qualified than the Instructors at Timmerman's KJMS.
